August 2024 President’s Message

tracie

Dear TCRA Members,

As I enter my 8th month as your president, I'm filled with gratitude for the continued
support and enthusiasm from our incredible members. It's been a productive and exciting
journey so far. I'm eager to share some important updates and upcoming events with you.

August 17th marks the deadline for REALTOR® membership for the settlement coverage and
practice changes. For more information and FAQ visit competition.realtor. You can also
visit WA REALTORS® website for information and education opportunities.

This coming Friday, August 9th, join us for the first YPN Cornhole Tournament and annual
school supply drive! We have some great teams signed up to compete for bragging rights
and a few great prizes. Sign-ups for teams are full, but you can purchase an observer lunch
or just stop in and drop off school supplies for kids in our local community.

Our Nominations Committee has been working hard to compile a strong list of nominees.
This committee has sought out outstanding REALTORS® that are committed to being a part
of TCRA’s future leadership. We will be publishing the list of nominees for open TCRA
Board of Directors positions and State Director positions in the coming weeks. You will
have the opportunity to vote for your fellow REALTORS® after our annual meeting
September 6th. Don’t miss out on this opportunity in shaping the future of TCRA! Check our
website for more details.

Another committee that has been working hard behind the scenes is our Candidate
Interview Committee. This committee interviews candidates in our local political elections
and presents their recommendations to the TCRA Board of Directors to approve candidate
endorsement and any campaign contributions. You will be able to hear from some
endorsed candidates at our annual meeting as well.

The Golf Tournament Committee has been planning our 43rd Annual Golf Tournament
scheduled for September 12th at Capital City Golf Club. They have some exciting new ideas
and activities for the event. The number of teams spots left is limited. Head over to our
website to register today. You won’t want to miss the best golf tournament of the season!

TCRA recently had their first DB Mastermind meeting. This meeting was designed to bring
our local Broker/Owners and Designated Brokers together to share ideas, discuss
upcoming practice changes, collaborate on challenges seen in individual offices and
market conditions. As a member and fellow DB, I want to thank those DB’s that were able
to attend. Your input is invaluable, and I appreciate your willingness to participate. If you
are a DB and would like to participate in the future watch your email for the DB specific
emails sent to you by our AE, Jenn Chernut. A big thanks to the Membership Committee for
putting this event together.

As we approach the final quarter of the year, I want to acknowledge the hard work and
dedication of our board members and committee chairs. Their commitment to our
association has been invaluable, and I am proud of the collaborative spirit that defines
TCRA.

Your input and engagement make our association stronger, and I look forward to continuing
our work together. Let's make the rest of the year as impactful as the first half!

All my best,
Tracie Choate
President, Thurston County REALTORS® Association
